Student Success Statement
“Be always sure you’re right, then go ahead.”
-Davy Crockett
What this statement is saying is that you should go and do things that you know for sure are the right things to do. You first have to be certain that you are choosing the right, and once you are definitely sure, then you go on ahead and proceed with what you are going to do. An example would be that if someone offers you drugs you know that that is not right so you walk away. They may insist that you take some but you have to firmly respond that you don’t. They may want you to doubt yourself, but if you are certain that it’s wrong, then ignore them. They might call you names but it’s important that you know exactly what the right thing is in order for you to proceed.
